While it is illegal to smoke cannabis in most commercial locations in Los Angeles, there is now one cannabis cafe in the city where you can smoke pot indoors. If you are visiting Los Angeles and are not permitted to smoke in your rental unit or hotel – this cafe is a great place to socialize and consume.
It is important to note that none of Los Angeles cannabis lounges or cafes actually sell marijuana and do not tolerate dealing so you must remember to grab your own from a dispensary.

West Hollywood’s Lowell Farms has the prestigious distinction of being the first-ever fully licensed cannabis consumption cafe in the United States. While San Francisco has ‘tasting rooms’ connected to some dispensaries where consumers can smoke, Lowell Farms has received the first license that allows smoking, drinking and food consumption all in one place which is a big milestone for cannabis consumption regulations in America. Backed by Miley Cyrus and number of other celebrity investors, the cafe is the first farm-to-table restaurant that brings cannabis and cuisine under one roof.
In addition to typical food and drink, Lowell Farms, which opened on Oct. 1, 2019 offers a menu of prepackaged cannabis goods such as edibles, fresh flower, and pre-rolled joints to consume on-site.
Guests can smoke indoor (thanks to a customized air-filtration system) or out on the patio. However, they cannot take cannabis home with them.
A handful of similar licenses are set to be distributed throughout West Hollywood over the coming months. The city worked with the county and state governments to create eight cannabis consumption licenses. More than 300 entities applied, with Lowell Farms being granted the first one.
