In February of 2019, Denver city council voted to permanently allow “social” cannabis use at certain businesses in the city and started trial programs. These businesses are classified as ‘private clubs’ and as such require a daily, monthly or yearly membership fee to be allowed inside. In most cases, tourists can show up and pay for a daily membership. The ‘private club’ status makes it is legal for members to consume cannabis on the property.
