‘Choom’ and ‘Canna Cabana’ are the two latest pot shops to grace Ontario with legal green. Both stores opened this past Saturday in their respective Niagara and Toronto locations.
Canna Cabana joins Ameri, The Hunny Pot Cannabis Co., Nova Cannabis and Tokyo Smoke as the last of 5 licensed shops available to sell legalized pot in the Toronto core. Canna has replaced the former California Sandwiches restaurant at Yonge and College, right between Hangry Burger and Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.
Down south in Niagara Falls, Choom issued a press release today announcing that they had cleared 50k in sales on their first day in business.
“We are really happy with the turnout we had for Choom Niagara’s opening day.” states Chris Bogart, President and CEO of Choom
“We’ve had a lot of support from the local community, and we’re excited to bring Choom to Niagara Falls. The feedback from our customers has been fantastic, and that is a testament to our dedicated staff and in-store experience. Doing over $49,000 in sales on the first day of operation is a great milestone for us and our team who have worked so hard to get where we are today.”
The government chose 25 retailers through a lottery to open the province’s first brick-and-mortar cannabis stores on April 1, but fewer than half met that deadline.
